Two months later, I did get an interview. No question about my qualifications--I could have managed the job. But the interview felt awkward; some of the questions didn't seem to fit the position and took me by surprise. I don't know--maybe it was just me, but I left feeling very uncomfortable and not particularly interested in working there. I do know I've reached a point where my heart is in making a go of the web design business, so perhaps I came across as less than enthusiastic about working in a school library. Anyway, I did receive a call yesterday. Someone else has been hired. I'm not disappointed!
The challenge now is for me to make enough money from my business to support myself in "retirement" years. I am no longer looking for employment elsewhere and am spending most of my time doing what I really love. They say, "When God closes one door, he opens another." I've found the open door; it will take some courage, determination, and faith in myself to walk through it.
